About the Fair
6th – 12th grade students compete in regional science and engineering fairs across Texas during January and February to advance to the state fair. The fair includes 20+ categories spanning across engineering, biological sciences and physical sciences. Winning high school entries advance to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).

Project board template example HERE. Do not change the size of the poster template example or add additional slides/pages. To download template: click “file then click “download”.When submitting your poster template you will need to save it as a PDF to submit.
Student Login
Every finalist must officially register for TXSEF. To register, you will receive an email from TXSEF via STEM Wizard with information on how to register. This link should not be distributed to anyone else, as registration submissions will be monitored. Non-state finalists found on the registration platform will be removed. Finalists will need to login to their STEM Wizard account daily to monitor status and check for messages.
❖ If you are a new user to OpenWater, you must register by creating an account. please select the My Account tab to get started and create your account Remember to keep track of the email address and password you use for future reference.
❖ If you participated in TXSEF last year, use your Scienteer email address, select the "forgot password" option, and proceed to generate a new password. If you do not remember your Scienteer email, you will need to create a new account (see first bullet for instructions).
Once your TXSEF application has been started, you can revisit and update your submission form in the My Account tab any time before the deadline on March 5, 2024 at 11:59PM (CST). Late registration or submissions will not be allowed after the deadline.
